Prescribed medication certainly has its place. It can usually ‘bring you back’ relatively quickly when PMDD is causing extreme havoc in your life and you’ve lost the will to live. But, unless you’re happy to surrender to a lifetime of drugs, it isn’t a long-term solution.
The truth is that the symptoms experienced by sufferers of PMDD indicate core imbalances in the body. Unless you address the root cause of the problems, you’ll continue to experience the symptoms. Medication and other forms of treatment can be used to help cope with these symptoms, but if there’s a way of significantly reducing or even eliminating them altogether, then in my books that’s an avenue worth pursuing.
